University of Szeged received Horizon 2020 grant for establishing molecular center of excellence

The consortium has received ca. 500,000 EUR EU-supported Horizon 2020 grant with the participation of the University of Szeged. The aim is to establish a molecular center of excellence and to foster clinical application of basic research.

We will establish a molecular center of excellence. This virtual center creates a network among the best performing medical research groups in Hungary. The Biological Research Centre (BRC, Szeged) and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) are working in close collaboration with other partners (including the University of Szeged) – added Prof. Dr. Lajos Kemény, the vice rector of science and innnovation.

The University of Szeged has joined the Demola Global Innovation Community, within the framework of the USZ Virtus Enterprise Catalyst Program, which aims to create a young, open, multidisciplinary community that works with creative ideas and methods to solve real market problems.
